G's Guide to Palm Desert

Our family loves to escape to Palm Desert as it's an easy, short drive from our home in Laguna Beach, California. We love everything about this place--from the famous mid-century modern homes to the various vintage shops and hikes.

Most of all, we love the food. Keep reading for some of our favorite places to eat and visit when we're desert bound. Need something to wear while you're sightseeing? Check out our new, vintage Palm Desert inspired collection

Places to Eat:

Wilma and Frieda’s: They have an amazing breakfast menu from classics to Blackberry French Toast, Churro Waffles and a Short Rib Benedict. You really can't go wrong with anything - and don't forever to get the house made Blueberry Pop Tart to go! :) You can find them in both Palm Desert and Palm Springs.

Little Bar: This is the coolest place to grab a drink along with some amazing bar food.  I highly recommend the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Buffalo Cauliflower Bites and the Tater tots.  They also serve one of my favorite margaritas, The Tamarindo Margarita.

Shabu Shabu Zen: We are big fans of Shabu Shabu - this place is so good and the staff is amazing.  The Washu beef with Miso Broth is my fave. My tip: make a reservation because they are always booked.

Bill’s Pizza: To say we love pizza is a huge understatement. Our family lives for pizza!! Although nothing will ever replace our love for our NYC slices, Bills is a great pizza spot.  It's a pizza institution in the desert, with multiple locations. They offer some really unique options - our favorites being the Bill’s Favorite and Carol’s White Pizza.

Dragon Sushi: We get this to-go all the time. It's classic sushi and it's always fresh and delicious.

The Real Italian Deli: This place is as good as any East Coast Deli - super old school and authentic.  They make all their own pastas and their sandwiches are amazing. Our favorites are the Turkey Pesto and the Combo.  This is a must-eat when you're out there! They also have two locations.

Chef Tanya’s Kitchen: We recently discovered this little Vegan gem.  Lots of great salads and sandwiches.  My favorite is the Coachella Forever Salad.
